With more 5-star reviews than any other current operator, Moraine Lake Bus Company is an obvious choice for your visit to Moraine Lake and Lake Louise!
Moraine Lake and Lake Louise in Banff National Park are two of the most iconic destinations in the Canadian Rockies. Known for their stunning turquoise waters, dramatic mountain backdrops, glaciers, wildflowers and native wildlife, these lakes are a must-see. But accessing these lakes can be challenging, especially during the peak Summer season. If you're planning to visit these stunning locations, Moraine Lake Bus Company is, from our experience, the best option for a smooth, stress-free journey.

In 2023, private vehicles were banned from using Moraine Lake Road and with access to Lake Louise becoming increasingly difficult each year (the car park here can be completely full by 7:30 am most days in the Summer months), planning and booking a shuttle ahead of time is strongly recommended. This is where Moraine Lake Bus Company comes in to help!
Offering daily scheduled trips to both Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, this shuttle service helps you experience the beauty of these lakes without worrying about parking, traffic or trying to secure limited availability on other shuttle services.
Who is Moraine Lake Bus Company?
Moraine Lake Bus Company is a local, family-owned business founded in 2023 by Banff locals, Alexandra and Jesse. Living in and exploring this part of the world, they realised a need to help other people access these stunning lakes, along with the climbing, hiking and other outdoor experiences at these locations.
Wanting to help reduce the stress and frustration experienced by many visitors, these Banff locals sought to create an easy, direct and hassle-free shuttle service that continues to get more 5-star reviews than any other company. With more 5-star reviews than any other current operator, Moraine Lake Bus Company is an obvious choice for your visit to Moraine Lake and Lake Louise!

Why choose Moraine Lake Bus Company?
Each year, Moraine Lake Bus Company is adding more and more shuttles to their fleet and, therefore, can offer more departures and have more availability than any other shuttle company.
Because of this, booking a ticket for the time and date you desire is more likely than many other shuttle services.
With a comprehensive shuttle schedule, including a sunrise shuttle, a direct-to-Lake Louise shuttle and the daily Moraine Lake shuttle, Moraine Lake Bus Company likely offers what you need to help make your dream trip to the Rockies a reality.
With Moraine Lake Bus Company, visitors can pre-book both outbound and inbound departures, giving you peace of mind that there will be a seat ready for you without needing to wait in any lines for the next available space.
Their friendly drivers offer advice and recommendations for spending your time at each lake and the wider Banff National Park, providing local insight you may not have found elsewhere.
You will be supporting a locally owned and operated business that is committed to supporting their community, local residents and notably their employees through paying all Summer workers rates which are aligned with the Bow Valley Living Wage.
What shuttle options does Moraine Lake Bus Company offer?
Moraine Lake Sunrise Shuttle If seeing the infamous red-tipped peaks of the Valley of Ten Peaks is on your bucket list, or you're simply an early riser, eager hiker, or, like us, just like to beat the crowds, the Sunrise Shuttle is a fantastic option. With daily departures from both the Summer Gondola (Lake Louise park-and-ride) and the Samson Mall in the Lake Louise Village, this shuttle is the perfect option for those looking to explore Moraine Lake. With countless hikes and other ways to spend the day at Moraine Lake, it is great to know there is no need to rush your time here with the last shuttle departing just before 7:00 pm!

Visiting both Moraine Lake and Lake Louise in one day is possible, especially for those not wanting to spend hours hiking at each location. Both lakes are very close in proximity, although walking between the two is not doable in a day. If visiting the lake-shore or going for a quick canoe on the lake are the main activities you want to do at Lake Louise, this 1-hour stop could be the perfect option for you. Any other hikes at Lake Louise will require you to spend a few hours here, so the Lake Louise day-time shuttle could be a better option for you!
Direct-to-Lake Louise (Day Time Shuttle)
This is perfect for visitors who want to visit Lake Louise for the day and avoid the uncertainty of parking availability. There are large parking lots at Lake Louise, however, you could line up in your car, ready for your day at Lake Louise, only to be turned around because the parking lot is full. To avoid this disappointment, Moraine Lake Bus Company’s direct-to-Lake Louise shuttle is a great option for those planning on spending a few hours to a full day exploring Lake Louise, with shuttles beginning at 8:00 am and running until 6:00 pm daily.

How much is the shuttle?
Pricing for the shuttle varies depending on what option you choose. 2025 rates start at $39 pp for a round trip to Lake Louise and $59 pp for a round trip to Moraine Lake. Starting in 2025, Parks Canada will be charging commercial operators, such as Moraine Lake Bus Company, a per-trip fee of $302.75. To help the company recoup part of that expense from Parks Canada, whom they are actively working with to help find more equitable solutions for all visitors in the future, a $15 Moraine Lake Commercial User Fee is included in the price of tickets to Moraine Lake. This fee is collected by Moraine Lake Bus Company during ticket purchasing. In 2025, there is no access fee for Lake Louise – only for Moraine Lake.
